Total Word Count for 2023: ~323,130

I was hoping to find a happy medium this year - to have a larger total word count than last year (264,070) but maybe not as crazy big as 2022 (421,910) when I'm aware that I 'over-worked' myself, so I think I can safely say I've achieved my goal! lol I seem to have found a good balance between making a good amount of time for writing and not over-burdening myself, so yay :) Strangely, my total number of fics this year is less than last year's 86, but I think that's because I got more inspired by the 3SF in 2022 than I did this year, and because I gave up on the drabble exchange part-way through 2023 when I got tired of it. Still, very pleased with my word count and with all the works that I did produce this year :D

Total Word Count for 2022: ~264,070

Well, that's a much lower total word count than last year's 421,910, but I'm okay with that. 2022 was sort of an experiment for me, writing-wise, and I've come to realise that giving myself time out from writing is a good thing; however, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing - I ended up getting frustrated at how long my longer fics took me to write and how many fic ideas I couldn't get around to writing because of that. The plan for 2023 is to find a happy medium - write more than in 2022, but don't beat myself up if I don't write as much as in 2021 :)

It was never easy being apart.

She would be a hypocrite to complain, but Veronica couldn't say the descriptor had never been applied to her before, fairly or not.

Sure, Logan had a good reason for being away, maybe the best reason, and her job had certainly come between them enough times.

Standing on the beach, staring out across the water, she daydreamed she could see his ship headed home. Fat chance.

She had another forty days to wait, but that was okay; Veronica could wait if she had to, knowing for certain that Logan Echolls was absolutely worth it.

unsent_letters_exchange, which I thought about a lot and almost decided against, BUT having taken a look through the requests summary, I think I did the right thing in going for it. I'm actually quite excited about the potential assignments now :)

Also, I signed up for

maythe4thbewithyou, which I wanted to do last year, but then didn't. This year, I'm giving it a try, even though I haven't written a whole bunch of Star Wars fic before. I just recently revisited the Sequels and Prequels and I know the Originals pretty well, so it should be fine :)

Hope everyone else's writing, both WIPs and challenge/exchange stuff, is going swimmingly! :)

It's so much easier to write now that I'm not on a schedule. I mean, I always got done all the stuff I needed to, and all the stuff I thought I should do, but sometimes, it was a struggle. Often, I didn't enjoy it as much as I ought to, considering that fanfiction is essentially made for fun! Now, I get an idea, the time and inclination line up, I sit down and just write and write and write... and I'm loving it! :D

So, I am in fact working on a new Hart of Dixie fic idea. Not ready to share it yet because it's a little different and I'm not sure how it's going to work out yet, but figuring it out is a blast :)

Also, thanks to a an old friend on FF.net resurrecting a fic of hers that has been on hiatus for years now, I've started a Veronica Mars fic, which is pretty crazy given it's an age since I rewatched more than a random episode of the show here and there and haven't written fic for it in longer, but hey, why not? :)

Finally, I have this wacky MCU fic idea that I'm playing around with. I haven't written much for the fandom that's not a one-shot, but this wacky concept just won't leave me alone, so I have to try it out. It's either going to be glorious or disastrous and I love that about it! lol
