So, I've written less fics than last year (64.5) but my word count isn't all that much lower (323,130). I'm guessing the difference is that I skipped some exchanges this year (much less drabbling was done, for a start, and I didn't even miss it!) and others that I wanted to take part in seemed not to happen, which was a shame. I didn't seem to get inspired to write as many one-shots in general, though I'm not entirely sure why. Anyway, happy with what I've achieved this year, all told :)

I was hoping to find a happy medium this year - to have a larger total word count than last year (264,070) but maybe not as crazy big as 2022 (421,910) when I'm aware that I 'over-worked' myself, so I think I can safely say I've achieved my goal! lol I seem to have found a good balance between making a good amount of time for writing and not over-burdening myself, so yay :) Strangely, my total number of fics this year is less than last year's 86, but I think that's because I got more inspired by the 3SF in 2022 than I did this year, and because I gave up on the drabble exchange part-way through 2023 when I got tired of it. Still, very pleased with my word count and with all the works that I did produce this year :D

Total Number of Fics for 2022: 86

Total Word Count for 2022: ~264,070


Well, that's a much lower total word count than last year's 421,910, but I'm okay with that. 2022 was sort of an experiment for me, writing-wise, and I've come to realise that giving myself time out from writing is a good thing; however, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing - I ended up getting frustrated at how long my longer fics took me to write and how many fic ideas I couldn't get around to writing because of that. The plan for 2023 is to find a happy medium - write more than in 2022, but don't beat myself up if I don't write as much as in 2021 :)

So, as I think I've mentioned before, I'm a little obsessed with fic exchanges lately. I really like getting prompts/requests and having to come up with a story by a deadline, it's just enough pressure without being too much. Besides, most of my stories lately get soooo loooong, it's great to get the chance to write stuff that's more like 1,000 or so (or even less for treats).

I went outside the box with a lot of these. I had never written Nat/Bucky for MCU before, and I certainly never thought to write fic for Austen novels until the ideas were laid out before me! Definitely something I would do again though, and everybody seemed pretty pleased with what I wrote for them, so that's cool.

Of course, I also received one main fic, and as a bonus, one treat as well, both of which are fab :)

Wish You Were Here - a cute Brisco County Jr. fic of the Brisco/Dixie variety, and

Dinner and a Show - an adorable Agent Carter fic of the Peggy/Daniel variety.

The next exchange is hetswap, for which I have my assignment, plus I've found 9 prompts that look interesting that I may write treats for if I have the time and inclination before 2nd April :)
