If he could change his expression, he would, but he doesn’t know how.

He wants to apologise, but ‘sorry’ lost all meaning a while back and she promised to kill him if he said it again.

He’s almost tempted.

“James, it’s not your fault.”

Actions speak louder than words, he knows, since the sickening moment when he timed it wrong, his metal fist colliding with her body; yet, she comes right over, arms around him, head on his chest.

Forgiveness, trust, love, even after everything; he will live his life trying to deserve her.
