Who doesn't enjoy a good fairytale once in a while, huh? With the success of OUAT lately, I guess most people understand the draw of a good fairytale based movie, right?

Ella Enchanted is silly at best, but its good fun, and has some great moments that could make you cry as well as all those that'll make you laugh out loud. The cast is fantastic and I defy you not to be singing Somebody To Love for like a week after you watch this storybook adventure of the girl cursed to always do as she's told.

Then there's our other heroine, Penelope. She too is cursed, but with something more physical - the face of a pig! The moral of the story is of course to see beneath the surface, and learn to love the person on the inside, but its not just the guy in the tale that learns that lesson, its Penelope herself too.

They're both feel-good fairytales, with enough fun and laughs and even love to stop you noticing you're learning something moral on the way. I love them :)

Look, you found two more movies I haven't seen...ever. They sound like movies I'd watch on a rainy Sunday afternoon...unfortunately the last, oh, say 8 years, I haven't watched movies on a rainy Sunday afternoon. I guess in this case I should regret I'm having boys, it sounds like movies I could watch with girls ;). But I'll remember them in case they ever show up on TV...

Not at all wrong, hon. It is a wonderful icon, I love it a lot!!!

I figured it would be a girly movie...I would say it could be my next movie when hopefully this summer the weather is awesome and my boys finally get their camping trip done...but I think I have Hide on my list for that day :).

I'll tell you after...because I haven't watched it yet! ;)

Funny thing though: I ordered it via amazon and got it sent to my parents...problem is in Germany it's rated over 18 and my dad had to show his ID to the mailman...who's known him for like 2 decades, lol. But you know the shot of his naked butt, right?

I thought Penelope was great, but I really didn't like Ella Enchanted. The book has been one of my favourites since high school, and the movie just... shredded it terribly. I love the cast, but the film is unforgivable!
