I don't get it...

This isn't so much a rant as a general wondering about people...

Why do people add you as a Friend when you have no idea who the heck they are???

I mean, I'd understand if these people were members of one of the comms I'm in or whatever, that'd make sense, or if they were Friends with some of the same people as me, thats totally cool, but twice lately I got messages to say totally random people have added me as a Friend.

I do not know them, and seem to have nothing in common with them. Am I the only one who thinks this is weird?

Also, can I just check, if I post stuff as Friends Only, then only the people I add as Friends see that, right? Not the people who have just added me? Sorry, I'm not sure I explained that well, and I should probably know this anyway, but LJ still confuses me on occasion...

Yeah, but thats cool, because I know you, in the sense that you have sent me reviews/messages via FF.net and I've answered. I'm aware of who you are and why you added me, y'know? These are people who I don't know at all, and when I asked one of them if I was supposed to know them, she just said 'no' and that was that! lol

When I look for new "friends" on LJ I look through things that I'm interested in, and then go and look through people based on if I find their icon appealing. Once I find someone who has an icon that is eye catching than I'll look through their other icons and see if there's anything else we like. People that love things (images, strong beliefs, things they find funny) more than just like will typically turn it into an icon to show it off before they'll just out and tell someone. That's how I friend people. I don't find it very weird but that's most likely because I do it.
