I was 10 years old when I successfully pestered my parents to rent Footloose. Everyone in my class had seen it but me.
After that truck scene, my parents angrily snapped off the TV and declared that we would not ever be watching the movie. Much crying and threatening commenced. They watched it that night, then changed their minds and let us watch it the next day. It became such a family favorite, that they bought us the VCR tape at Christmas (which was a huge deal because tapes were very expensive back then.)
I've seen the movie countless times and love it so much still. I love the soundtrack too and did a gymnastics floor routine to 'Holding Out for a Hero' when I was 11. :)
