[100 Things] My DVD Collection: Grease & Grease 2

 

Anyone will tell you that Grease 2 is the crappy spawn of Grease that should never have been made. My opinion? I honestly think people wouldn't judge the so-called sequel so harshly if it had been a movie in its own right.

Grease was an awesome movie musical, few people will argue that point. The songs are great, the actors were beyond talented (if a little or even a LOT too old for High School! lol), and its a classic in the eyes of anyone with eyes. I've been a fan from the age of 6 when I first saw in TV and wanted to be cool end-of-movie Sandy when I grew up! lol

Grease 2 by comparison is pretty bad, but look at it on its own, and I really think its pretty cool. I love the music - Cool Rider, Turn Back The Hands of Time, Score Tonight, Prowlin', Girl for All Seasons - and there are laughs, drama, and fun throughout. Yes, Reproduction is kinda lame, and the T-Birds are not as cool as the first movie, and is Stephanie really so dumb she couldn't tell Michael and Cool Rider are the same guy? But hey, take it at face value, don't take it so seriously, and Grease 2 is a fun movie all around, IMO anyway.
