Review: Timeless Finale - Part 2 of 2

So, the Timeless finale proved that this whole adventure couldn't and wouldn't end the way I wanted it to, but it could and would end the way I expected it to.
Here's the thing, in Season 1, I shipped Wyatt/Lucy like woah. It made sense, it was all very beautiful, I wanted it. Then Season 2 happened. Flynn wasn't as bad as we thought and he cared about Lucy, and Wyatt went back to his now-alive wife, Jessica. I started shipping Lucy/Flynn. I still ship Lucy/Flynn, and my goodness, there is going to be fanfic, BUT after Part 1 of the finale (and in a way, even before that) I knew I wasn't going to get a Lucy/Flynn ending.
Flynn died to save Rufus and everyone. He died a hero and I love that if he had to go that was how it happened. Lucy/Wyatt seemed fairly inevitable anyway and I wasn't surprised they ended up married with kids - it was actually very sweet - though I'm a little POed that even the brief affair Lucy/Flynn were supposed to have now never happened... Again, there's always fanfic ;)
Of course, I love that Rufus/Jiya got their happy ending and that Lucy/Wyatt were happy too. I actually love that the kids were called Amy and Flynn, though I was disappointed that Lucy never actually got her sister back. I do understand about the whole sacrifice thing, very noble, but somehow, still a little disappointing to me.
The Korean War stuff was dramatic and well done and I love that Agent Christopher got at least one shot at time travel and saving the team. Rittenhouse was finally defeated and old man Cahill even got to redeem himself ever-so-slightly by helping save Lucy from Emma's dastardly plans... and Emma died in the Korean War, so that got rid of her.
Love that Rufus/Jiya have done great things by 2023. Love the wacky concept that apparently the young girl in the last scene might create another time machine, starting the crazy all over again! lol
But I did get one Lucy/Flynn scene that I was hoping for - her going back in time to the bar in Sao Paolo to give him the journal. I was smiling, I was crying, but I was glad to see it. She sort of got to say her goodbyes, in a way, and the whole paradoxical cycle began again. Yeah, I was glad to have that scene, as well as the music video flash through time that follow. Good job, Timeless creator folks!
All in all, I'm just glad they got a proper ending on this thing and that it was so well done, but now, I need to go read some alternate-ending fanfic, and maybe write some too, because I still want my Lucy/Flynn happy ending, whether it makes sense to everyone else or not ;)
